Adam Jeník: Fairchild PT19 Cornell

The original Fairchild PT19 Cornell first flew in May 15th, 1939. Tiny aeroplane with wingspan of 10,97m driven by Fairchild Ranger engine made maximum speed 212 km/h (132mph), range 692km (430mi) and max ceiling 4663m (15300ft).

1/20 scale model was designed and built by Adam Jeník according to Paul R. Mat 3 view. Model has wingspan of 545mm, is 421 mm long and weighs 27g, when rubber motor has 5-5,5g. The finish is made by spraying Humbrol colors (yellow, blue and black), decal on the ruder as the other decals were made on ink jet printer. Vrtule Peck polymers propeller originally 8" (200mm) was shortened to 190mm.

So far the best position of Fairchilda is the second place on Rudolf Drnec Memorial 2007.
